April of 2015 God had laid it on my heart to join Mountain Gateway with the intentions of becoming their videographer and photographer. When you do something you love it’s always hard to stop, and when God is behind it you never dream of stopping. The long fight in my heart that raged on for months never left the forefront of my mind until I said yes to God and no to myself and all that said, -it couldn't be done. June of 2015 I had joined up with Mountain Gateway to begin the backcountry training along with capturing moments on camera for MG… but only making myself think that I’d be there for three months. It’s pretty awesome what God can do with you in just three months in the hills and mountains of a few different States when you say, -lets do this.
By the end of my time with them in August, God had brought it up again, and instead of running from the idea mentally, or saying no and trying to find a bunch of excuses for why I couldn’t join, I decided to listen to the call God had on my life and continue on the road He now want’s me on, no matter how difficult it may seem or become. When everything is said and done, I am honestly overjoyed with the decision to join Mountain Gateway. It’s hard to find people with the heart to want to equip you for the better of God’s kingdom and not their own agendas. Mountain Gateway is one of those places with the intentions of equipping and making sure we are able to achieve the things God has called us all to do.
