SADLER SORGEE
I was raised in Alabama, and my childhood was difficult. I didn’t grow up having a relationship with Jesus, but His hedge of protection was always around me. Before I was even born, my grandmother prayed for me and believed that I would serve the Lord with my whole life. I’m not sure when I truly accepted Jesus, because it is such a common thing to be a Christian in the south. My dad told me to get baptized when I was 12, but I didn’t truly pursue God or begin my relationship with the Lord until after I graduated high school. After high school I began attending Daystar Family Church and was truly captivated by God’s Fathering nature. I was baptized once again, but this time I finally found my purpose through the pursuit of Jesus Christ! God gave me a dream after praying for a purpose in life, and in the dream a woman asked where God was telling me to go and I responded with, “The Native American people.” She then smiled and said she served on the reservations and that I should give my whole heart to it. I woke up knowing that one day I would be a missionary to the Native American people. My heart yearns to see the freedom of the Father I have come to know come to them like wind from Heaven. |
I believe God equips us, and I understand that training and preparing myself is going to be the key in order to follow God’s call on my life with longevity and excellence. Shortly after my arrival at Daystar, Mountain Gateway Director Britt Hancock gave a sermon and that is when I began to walk the road to fully committing to be apart of this amazing ministry. His message was simple and powerful. He talked about missions, told stories, and displayed genuine passion for the life we are all called to live with Jesus Christ as Lord. I have no doubt that the Great Commission Academy will develop in me all the characteristics necessary to one day minister to those God has called me to. I believe with all my heart this is the training ground for passionate ministers and it is an absolute honor and privilege by God that He has allowed me access to what The Great Commission Academy can teach me.
