ETHAN MURRAY

I grew up in Coventry, England and moved with my mother to the United States as a teen. I didn't have a relationship with Jesus growing up, and I didn't know He had a plan for my life, I was never good at school and when I came to the U.S that didn't change. I went down a dark road with drugs and drinking, selling drugs, doing drugs, getting into trouble and dropped out of school because of it. I began to seek after the "spiritual" in life which led me down an even darker and more confusing path filled with witchcraft, false teachings, and encounters with darkness that I saw as light.
Some years later down this path, a friend of mine who was walking this dark path alongside me got saved by the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. I was confused at the sudden change in her and by the events that led up to her salvation, but a seed was planted in me. Confused and distraught, I drove around aimlessly for three days barely eating, barley sleeping, and getting as high as I could get. On the third night, I drove by a church in the middle of the night and something in me knew that there was a cross out back behind this old Catholic Church I had an urge to stop the car. I got out and made my way to the cross, unable to stand, I fell before the cross and wept to Jesus without doubt of who He is and the truth of His power and love. I pledged my life to Christ, begging for Him to save me. Now sober, it was the first time I heard Him speak to me, He said "Ethan, are you sure you want to do this?" I believed with all my heart and confessed with my mouth that Jesus is Lord and told him, "yes". From that day forth I was born again, following God and dedicated to serving Him, making disciples, and spreading His gospel.
Now I have a call on my life for ministry and through my pastor I got connected to Mountain Gateway. After prayer and talking with leadership, I know this is the next step in the direction the Lord is taking me and again I've said yes to Him as I will continue to do so only by the grace of God.
Isaiah 43:1-3 But now, this is what the Lord says - he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Isreal: " Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rives, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Isreal, your Savior;”
Ephesians 2:10 "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
