SADLER LAYNE SORGEE


My childhood growing up in Alabama was not easy.  Though I didn’t grow up having a relationship with Jesus, His hedge of protection always surrounded me. My grandmother prayed for me before I was even born, believing I would serve the Lord with my whole life.  Because it’s so normal to be a Christian in the south, I’m not sure when I truly accepted Jesus. But I didn’t really pursue Him or begin my relationship with the Lord until after high school, when I started attending Daystar Family Church. I was truly captivated by God’s Fathering nature. I was baptized again, and this time I finally found my purpose through pursuing Jesus Christ! I am convinced that the life made available to me through Jesus' crucifixion and resurrection must  be made known to all the world. 
I understand that training is key in order to follow God’s call on my life with longevity and excellence. Shortly after my arrival at Daystar, I heard a sermon by Mountain Gateway’s Founder, Britt Hancock. That is when I started the journey of fully committing to be a part of this amazing ministry and family. His message was simple and powerful. He talked about missions, told stories of what God has done, and displayed genuine passion for the life we are all called to live with Jesus Christ as Lord. I have no doubt that the Great Commission Academy will develop in me all the characteristics necessary to fulfill God's mandate on my life. I believe with all my heart this is the training ground for passionate ministers. It is an absolute honor and privilege that God has allowed me to learn all that The Great Commission Academy can teach.
