SHAWN AND JULIE BOYKIN
Shawn and Julie Boykin are part of the 2022 Mountain Gateway Academy. While there they will immerse themselves in intense discipleship, prayer, Bible classes, and wilderness/technical training which gives them the opportunity to experience the different aspects of ministry in local churches, local missions and overseas missions.
They have answered the call from God to serve as full-time missionaries.
Shawn was born In West Palm Beach, FL and raised in Atlanta, GA. Julie was born and raised in Huntsville, AL, Rocket City USA. God brought the couple together after Shawn moved to Huntsville in 1998. After serving 8 years in the United States Marine Corps Shawn moved into defense contracting. However, Shawn felt God’s call on his life into ministry in 2004. From 2011-2017, he was a youth pastor with two churches in Huntsville. Julie’s call to missions started in 2004 when God called her to part-time missions in Venezuela. Her passion for seeing people come to Jesus has never wavered. She has also served in children, youth, women’s, and local missions leadership positions. They have lived in Huntsville the last 21 years raising a family and serving God.
The couple has served in various ministry positions for over 15 years and their primary focus is sharing their story of how God, through his son Jesus, can truly change lives. They believe passionately that the harvest is bountiful whether in your own city or across the ocean and both are eager to see God’s presence, love and Word brought to all who need to hear of our savior Jesus Christ.
Shawn and Julie have two sons. Michael is 22 and serves on active duty in the US Navy. Patrick is 20 and is studying to be an Athletic Trainer at the University of Alabama- Huntsville. The desire to serve God wherever He desires is at the core of their hearts.
