WOMEN'S INTENSIVE

CONNECT WITH OTHER WOMEN IN THE WILDERNESS

The Women’s Wilderness Intensive takes a small group of ladies and their instructors on a 12 day backpacking expedition in the mountains of Wyoming. Connect with other women while honing your leadership capabilities, developing your unique leadership style, and practicing techniques for resolving conflict and facilitating group communication.  Instructors address who we are as daughters in the Family of Christ and warriors in the Army of God. When we eliminate the distractions of daily life, we can direct our eyes solely to our main goal: transformation - in ourselves first, then in others, all unto the glory of God.

ESSENTIAL ELIGIBILITY:

There are no prerequisites for this course except a good attitude and a desire to learn and grow. We will teach you the skills of backpacking, including the essential backcountry skills of outdoor cooking and using the bathroom in the wilderness.

Physical Ability:
  • Carry a backpack 40-60% of your body weight, hiking 4-8 miles a day
  • Hike and camp at elevations of 8,000 ft. and up
  • Long, active days: often up at 6am and in bed at 9pm

We understand the physical requirements may feel overwhelming, but most people can train and have an amazing experience. We provide a training plan to help you be physically prepared for your trip so you can succeed and have the most fun.

We prioritize the health and well-being of our participants and staff and the effective education of our participants. The remote environments where we conduct our courses can be physically and emotionally challenging. The wilderness environment is what makes our educational activities effective, but it also requires that participants are fully committed to and capable of working hard, taking responsibility for themselves, and working effectively in the group to achieve the goals of the course.
