We are remembering the things of old (Isaiah 46:9) and we are rejoicing in His new mercies every morning (Lam 3:22-23).
In 1999, 10 years before Mountain Gateway was founded, Britt was with some other missionaries to Mexico at a campaign. They had been praying for people for hours when a mother walked up with her son, who was around 10 years old. He had been born completely deaf, which left him mute as well. The missionary whom Britt had accompanied to the campaign put his arms around the boy, hugging him in prayer. Britt placed his hands over both of the child’s ears. As they were praying, the boy jerked as if he had been struck, his eyes huge. He shouted Fuego. The first words he had ever spoken. Fire. He leapt up, yelling fuego, fuego, fuego! He ran through the crowd, touching dozens of people, praying for them. Not only had God given him the ability to hear, He had opened his mouth and given him the ability to speak and understand. Jesus is alive! Life and peace, Britt and Audrey Hancock The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor. Matthew 11:5
