Laying down our lives is hard enough, but lack of direction in our calling and relational issues are just some of the many challenges that tempt us to give up.

But what does surrender look like on a practical level? And how are you supposed to know what direction God is calling you?

  Be transformed from someone who wants to do something big for Jesus into a faithful worker willing to be unknown by the world for their sacrifice.
Though we cannot eliminate the call to die to self, we do whatever we can to walk with you on the path to the cross.

We know what it’s like when the gap between where you are in your life today, and living out your purpose for God seems impossible to fill. 

  • Create space to hear from God about the direction He has for your life.
  • Get equipped with the tools you need to keep going even when you want to quit. 
  • Get the relational skills you need to work with others in a ministry context. 
  • Build a foundation of spirituality through prayer, fasting, worship, and study of the Word.
​My heart felt like it was going to explode out of my chest for the people around me who didn’t know Jesus, but I knew that I couldn’t navigate the journey alone - the thought of figuring out how to do ministry by myself was overwhelming. I needed to learn to walk out my calling in God on both a spiritual and a very practical level. The Mountain Gateway Academy was more than I even knew I needed. I grew in connection with God in a way that drives me to love others better. I learned to persevere in tough times. I gained life-long friendships that encourage me to seek Jesus no matter how hard life can get. By the end of my training, I was more convinced than ever that Jesus is worth all that I have, and everything that I am.

​PRAYER + BIBLE

Immerse yourself in a transformative journey of discovering your identity, studying the scriptures, developing sermon-crafting skills and discipleship while engaging in the local church.

Develop your personal style of leading prayer and Bible study, through scripture memorization, servant leadership, intercession and fasting.

​TECHNICAL SKILLS

Increase proficiency in problem-solving and innovation through hands-on learning in repair and building projects, and more.

Daily workouts will instill a strong work ethic and sense of confidence so that when obstacles arise you can overcome.


WILDERNESS

Come face-to-face with your strengths and weaknesses through wilderness living and backpacking.

​ You will hone your competency in relationships, conflict resolution, and leadership while learning the resiliency necessary to succeed in whatever God calls you to.


MISSIONS

Engage with Mountain Gateway Missionaries in a foreign culture and experience our missions approach through house visits, village services, praying for the sick, evangelism, small groups, or baptisms.

Reflect and hear what the Lord is saying to you about your future in missions.

HOW TO GET STARTED 

1. Apply to the Mountain Gateway Academy 

Work one-on-one with a trusted Mountain Gateway Advisor through your application and pre-training process

2. Get clarity in your calling and be equipped to carry it out.

Dedicate 10 months to hearing God and practicing surrender. Be trained to take the gospel into any context or culture.​

3. See the hearts of the lost come alive. 

Introduce people to Jesus, wherever God has called you to minister.

LIFE AFTER THE ACADEMY

After the MG Academy, you will launch into the next season that God has in store. You will be encouraged to pray through these three options:
MG MISSIONS TRACK 

​Become equipped to spread the Gospel in a culture not your own. Learn on the job with Mountain Gateway Missionaries.
SECOND YEAR SERVE

​Return to the MG Academy for a second year to equip others in their calling while gaining additional leadership skills as an Academy Servant Leader.
MG LAUNCH

​Launch into work, education, or ministry outside of Mountain Gateway.
