Missionaries who do not receive prayer support from the home-front are 71% more likely to leave the mission field before they intended or for a negative reason.
It is wrong that people are leaving the mission field because believers don’t feel that prayer is the most important thing they can give. |
Join a community of believers dedicated to systematic and unceasing prayer for missionaries and the nations.
If God’s people remain undaunted in prayer in spite of life’s disappointments, we can see the hand of God move in the earth.
A PLANUse our resources to systematically pray scriptures over the nations.

A COMMUNITYJoin a community of believers willing to keep praying in spite of their emotions
|
A PURPOSEBecome a part of the reason that missionaries stay on the field.
|
We have felt the sting of disappointment when God didn’t do what we asked in prayer.
|
But we will also see hearts awakened to the light of the gospel and missionaries stay on the field in response to our prayers.

Britt Hancock, founder of Mountain Gateway, became incurably blind with macular dystrophy at 19 years old. Eye specialists told him there was nothing they could do. His heart was broken as he thought of never being able to see the mountains again. Britt and his family prayed and believed for healing; the more Britt sought Jesus, the worse his eyes got. But he determined never to give up, and refused to let his heart become dominated by his sickness. One Sunday morning, he woke up and walked outside. As he crossed the threshold, his sight returned in an instant! He has now seen mountain ranges on four continents. |
Sara, the aunt of one of our pastors in Nicaragua, had a brain hemorrhage that left one side of her body completely paralyzed. She was paralyzed for 6 months and the doctors told her she would never walk again. The pastor and his family prayed for her healing, with no response. One day, after a dramatic miracle in which Jesus rescued the pastor from men who were trying to kill him, the pastor went back to his aunt's house - full of renewed faith - and prayed once more. That day Sara was able to move her foot, then her fingers. Now she is able to walk to her kitchen! She is in a process of healing! |
One of our pastors, Chucho, brought us to witness and pray for his neighbor, Josefina, who was “very sick.” They hiked through the jungle to an impoverished hut, where they were received coldly by the sick woman’s husband. The wife was seated behind a wall made of plastic sheeting, only the tips of her fingers visible. Britt began to tell her of the love of Jesus and she accepted Him into her heart. Through the course of the conversation, Britt inched his way closer to the plastic barrier till he could look at Josefina. His heart went out to her. Leprosy covered her face and hands. Gently, Britt asked if she had leprosy. She told him she did. Britt and Chucho invited her to come out from where she was hiding, and they laid hands on her, asking Jesus to heal her body.
Josefina began to come to Chucho’s house for church every week, sneaking in the back after dark and listening in the dark kitchen. She would come to the edge of the light at the end of the night, head down and face and hands covered, to receive prayer. Two months after she gave her life to Christ, Josefina walked in the front door of the house, in broad daylight, and approached Britt directly. “I am healed, and I can see!” she declared. Britt learned she had been almost completely blind, and Jesus had not only given her brand new skin, but new eyes. Jesus had cleansed her. |
Britt was with other missionaries to Mexico at a campaign. They had been praying for people for hours when a mother walked up with her son, who was around 10. He had been born deaf, leaving him mute as well. The missionary whom Britt had accompanied to the campaign put his arms around the boy, hugging him in prayer. Britt placed his hands over both of the child’s ears. As they were praying, the boy jerked as if he had been struck, his eyes huge. He shouted Fuego. The first words he had ever spoken. Fire. He leapt up, yelling fuego, fuego, fuego! He ran through the crowd, touching dozens of people, praying for them. Not only had God given him the ability to hear, He had opened his mouth and given him the ability to speak and understand. Jesus is alive! |
Cristobal and Cristina’s little two-year-old daughter, Lupita, became ill with bronchitis. Their hut was at the top of their village, a 2000-foot vertical climb from the base of a knife-edged mountain range, and medical care was difficult to access. Lupita got progressively worse with fever and an inability to breathe.
At 5:30 in the morning, Cristina woke up to check on Lupita. She placed her hand on the child in the crib and found her cold and stiff. She had been dead for hours. Cristina woke Cristobal and they cried out to God for hours, asking him to raise their daughter. When nothing happened, they began preparations for taking the body to the authorities, in accordance with Mexican law. As they made preparations, suddenly, Lupita stood up in her crib and asked her parents for a piece of candy! Cristobal and Cristina ran to lift her out of the crib, crying out with joy. Jesus had raised her from the dead! |
A believer asked Britt to come to a village to pray for a man possessed by a demon, and got on the radio to announce that Britt was coming. An indigenous man, Francisco, who lived deep in a canyon heard the radio announcement and his hunger for hope drove him to hike three hours to meet Britt. Francisco had taught himself to read as an adult, so that he could read the Bible. His heart was seeking for God, crying out for understanding. But there was no one to teach him. He was lost and desperate. Francisco listened to Britt share the Good News and asked if he would come to his hut to tell his wife and daughters. Britt agreed, and the whole family met Jesus. After years of seeking for the truth, they had finally found Him. He began to hike hours to meet Britt and follow him to church, asking questions, becoming a disciple of Jesus. He is now a pastor. |
